What are some tips on how to tie up your hair?

I'm a teen girl with a straight hair that reaches up to the shoulders. What are some of your tied up hair styles? I've been wanting to tie up my hair that is like that of the Japanese...but can't seem to do it. I don't really want to always tie up my hair in a ponytail so can you tell me some of your recommended tied up hair styles?...tied up hair that will look nice and cute for a 13-16 year old girl. I'll really appreciate your advice. Thanks very much!!!

after I get out of the shower I braid my hair, (mostly pigtail braids because it works better). anyway, I go to bed with it wet, in the braids. when i wake up with the morning i blow-dry the rest of the wet-spots. then i take it down and my hair is naturally wavy, no mousse or anything. i then take a clip and pull have of my hair up and half down. sometimes clipping my bangs back with a glittered bobby pin. I love doing this for all the dances at school. it gives you a natural, chic look!

My hair is the same length as yours. Sometimes I wear it in a high pony tail with a sparkly clip covering the holder.

Sometime I wear it in a low ponytail, and as I pull it through the holder I then catch it mid-way through and let it lay, like a bun....It's pretty, but probably not for a young girl your age.

In a high ponytail I sometimes use a curling moose and fluff it up...It looks nice that way too. A french braid is always nice. But I can;t do them.....

to do the japanese thing, there is a way to do it with just the chopsticks, but what i do is i just put my hair in a bun and stick the chopsticks through.

okay ,,my hair is a little longer but heres what i do ,,pull my hair up to the top ,,twist it allthe while till it curls up in a knotted shape i then place a shortened chopstick wooden ones work best ,,in the knot then under catching the hair underneith ,,then up and out take a second chopstick and do the same it will make the twisted hair swiggle ,,more secure ,,this is how they do it in asia i lived in thail;and 24 years ,,when it was hot ,,i allways did my hair up that way it turns out differnt each time but it works,,,, people cant believe its so easy to do ..i can do it without mirrow even ,,sometimes the random hair swiggle is unique ,,and an art obgect in itself have fun with this ,,hope it helps ,,juliet
