I know of a really simple style but you would need the help of someone else. It's a little more formal but it's still very fun.

Pull all of your hair back to create a tight ponytail and place a band at the base. Take a small piece from the tail and wrap it around the band to disguise it and pin the strand with a bobby pin. Now, begin french braiding the hair from the tail. Instead of taking hair from either side of the head, you will be taking hair from the bottom of the tail. Continue braiding, holding the braid horizontal. Once, you've reached the end, tie it off with a band. Pull the braid underneath the base of the tail and pin it in place.

Now, here comes the magic! With two fingers grasp the base of the tail and gently pull upwards and voila! The braid will split and spread out like the wings of a butterfly. Now just pin the braid once or twice more at the base to hold the braid open. It's really quite beautiful and fun.

The best thing to do is to start with a good haircut. That way, no matter how you style it, it's likely to look decent.

I love the way my hair looks half up-half down. I bump the ends with a curling iron and it adds a nice touch.

Have you tried those straw curls? That always looks cute...but it doesn't last very long.

How about coloring your hair with a semi permanent rinse? I know that isn't a "style" but it may add a nice flare to your look. I use Jazzin' in Cherry Cola- it has NO harmful chemicals and I reapply it as often as every couple months! I love that stuff cuz it just adds a nice subtle highlight.

IHmm I can't think of anything else for some reason... but if your hair IS permed or pressed, remember to wrap it every night. That will keep your straight style from becoming thick again and will keep your hair healthier.

my hair is dark, and naturally wavy. when i get out of the pool it has that hard feeling that chlorine gives it. i usually brush my hair out and leave it. sometimes i'll just sit out after i swim, and it will dry pretty frizzy looking.(ickk) i don't know how to wear my hair that will make it look cute after a swim. any ideas?

I would gather it up in a low ponytail and make a bun out of it. That way it's out of the way and it doesn't get frizzy. You could either brush it back or just smooth it back with your hands. After it's been back like that for a while and you take it down it will start to make your hair look a little curly.

Most definitely get a hair straightener. I'm a huge fan of the GHD brand, but I've heard CHI is basically the same thing. You can definitely get hair that straight if your hair is just wavy / curly. I have wavy, fine hair too, but it works great for me. But do use some kind of thermal styling product that goes with the hair straightener that will help hold the style as well as protect your hair from the heat of the straightener because if you don't, your hair will get fried. But get one - it's an appliance I now can't live without!

Try putting mousse gel evenly through your hair while wet and then put it in two or three braids.

Cut it a little shorter and try scrunching it now.

If you want it curly, use some mousse and then a fat curling iron. Let the curls cool before you run your fingers through it and spray. You seem to have already tried a lot or don't want a lot of things (curlers, braids, ponies). Have you tried taking strands and twirling them around your finger (wet) securing them with a clip or barette and sleeping on it over night? That will make waves without the frizzy look of braids.

To make it wavy get a squirt bottle, fill it with water, add 3tbs of sea salt, squirt in your hair until damp, and let dry.. it will leave your hair wavy. =)

After a morning shower don't dry it too much and don't brush it at all (for better bounce) then put lots of mousse it with your head in a forward upside down position by leaning over ( spread evenly and scrunch it good) then defuse it with a defuser (an attachment for the blow dryer)

For curls try either Curls Up! or V05 Curvaceous Curls. There both quick and easy. Or if you cant buy any when you get out of the shower tie up your hair in a messy bun and sleep in it when you wake up your hair should be curly.

For hair styles buy little jaw clips take a section from the top of your head and clip it on the side or take a little bit of hair from the right side of your head and flip to the left and tie it in a ponytail and tie off with a bow. I did this for several months, now my hair in the middle of my head is extremely weak, and thin and my scalp is tender in the area where the combs would tighten and gather together. 1) don't pull the ponytail too tight. this will cause your hair to break.

2) don't put it in a ponytail right after a bath or shower. when your hair is wet, it is at its weakest, and it will break more easily.

try finding some scalp conditioners to help your scalp. poor thing! it sounds painful. i hope it repairs itself soon!

at first i was like what is that..so i searched and now i understand its a clip on hair ext piece...i think what happened is that it was pulling at your natural hair putting weight on your roots...this made your hair stretch to its capacity...the thin aspect is a sign of weak or damaged hair...use a good shampoo conditioner and leave in oil..it will will come back to life within a week...just quit the ponytails for while

Well of course your hair is thinning simply because you keep pulling it back tightly snapping that ponytail and doing that for several months will thin your hair out. I wouldn't suggest using that doo gro shampoo most products like that don't even work (trust me). Try a good moisturizing shampoo without sulfate and a moisturizing conditioner, deep condition your hair at least ever 2 1/2 weeks, and stop wearing those ponytails i know they are super cute and very convenient but they damage your hair with repeated use. I suggest getting this falt iron cream, a nice ceramic iron (only 30 dollars at beauty supply store) and simply flat iron your hair in some cool funky syle while your hair grows back. I'd highly suggest not relaxing your hair or using any other chemical treatment wait until you hair is full and healthy again!!! O yeah stay away form hair grease we as blacks have been fooled in thinking that it helps are hair grow when in reality it clogs the scalp preventing growth instead of using grease (which is vaseline based and just creates a fake film of shine on the hair strand and not moisturizing at all) instead use real essential oils like olive oil, jojoba oil and tea tree oil (the actual liquid ones not the ones in the jar that are vaseline aka petroletum based) here are products i suggest..

okay so im a latina with really really curly hair. im not talking about nice cute little ringlets or nothing like that. its bad, its like if i just let my hair dry out naturally i'd have an afro that extends 1 foot from my head, no lie. i can't use gel cuz it dries out my hair and things like garnier and fructise just don't work because i have tough, resistant hair it won't straighten for nothing in the world. I mean i do relax it, do roller in my hair and get it blow dried and it comes out extremely straight. but i can't have my mom do my hair all the time so what can i do to my extreme afro in order to have nice, frizz free curls with not too much volume. for all those brothers and sisters out there who understand what its like having really resistance and tough hair, please give me good answers. nothin like sunsilk, john frida or nothin like that. it does nothin to my hair, i repeat nothin. please give me good solutions.

1.Every night before bed shampoo your hair with fructis sleek and shine but condition only every other day.

2. towel dry your hair and use a paddle brush to detangle it. Try goody square paddle brush. the bristles are far apart and wont rip your hair

3. rub a dime sized dropof shine serum in your hair while it's damp then let it air dry while you sleep.

You can try everything, but nothing is gonna make it grow "faster"- its gonna grow at the same rate it always has.

I have pin straight hair too- your not alone. If i wanna curl or have my hair wavy, I take a shower before i go to bed and put my hair in a tight bun. because your hair is short, you might have to make 2 buns and put them down low...but make them as high as possible. (comb your hair before you do this)

In the morning they will prob still be a little damp- DO NOT BRUSH you hair. it'll make it look really frizzy. put some anti-frizz (i recommend john freeda) and then some curling styling gel and then a little hairspray.

You have the perfect oval face so the trick is not to have a centre parting! Ask for a long sweeping side fringe or bang as a choppy fringe will look too complicated on your face.

Ask for the shortest layer to reach the lower end of your ear and lots of layers in between with lots of texture.

Ask them to do a gloss treatment as wellm your hair is a lovely colour already so a gloss will just enhance this!

Okay! I know sooo many hair styles that would work for you, but its gonna be hard to explain them to you:

1. The Double Braid-Make two braids, one on each side of your head. Then, (you might need somebody's help for this), put them together in the back of your head so that there is one long strip of hair coming down your back. You can also do this with your hair down. Be creative.

2.The Braided Clip-Make 4-8 braids on your head and take a giant hair clip and clip them all up together in the back of your head so that the ends of the braids come out of the top of the clip. (You might needs someone's help for this part), take out the ends of the braids coming out of the top of the clip.

3.Cliped Hair-Put your hair up in a giant clip in the back of your head. Kind of like number 2.

4.Pony Tail

5.Bun

6.Double Bun

7.Pig Tails-Double pony tails

8.French Braid-One long french braid in the back.

Pin your sidebangs up to make a little poof on top, or pin them back and to the side. You could also scruch your hair a little after your shower and let air dry wavy. You could wash your hair at night and then pull it into a twisted bun high on your head, when you take it out in the morning just fluff a little and it will be wavy and cute. You could also buy a few cute headbands and just put one on too. Take care!

I have frizzy medium length hair. My hair is curly too. Im sick of straightening it every day. I need some simple cute styles that i can do with curly hair.

Buy the BEDHEAD by TIGI collection of products for curly hair. I use the Catwalk Gel and Uptight, Heat Activated Curl Maker, and Curls Rock Booster - it works wonders. The booster is great for when your hair starts frizzing out again - you can spray the spray and scrunch again and just go out again! Its the best. They also have a conditioner for curly hair that you leave in. These are available in salons or actually i just got some in Stop n Shop.

Then scrunch your hair with your hands while you blow dry on low heat or with a diffuser over the top of the hairdryer. This keeps the curls together.

When you are done blowdrying -don't brush it out - lightly and I mean lightly pick it out or run your fingers through it to fluff it a bit.

A cut with layers will help the curls to fall the best and my hairdresser cuts 'into' my hair even thoug my hair is fine (I have a lot of it though) and this enhances the curls so they keep their shape.

Finish of your hair style with a bit of hairspray to help seal out the frizzies and you are good to go - and as mentioned before - touch up with the curl booster later on if need be.

and yes - I have medium frizzy fine hair but..not anymore.

oh yeah add a SMALL drop of a smoothing cream into your hair too - even though you aren't straigtening it - use a little bit to help tame the frizzies -and then put in the curl enhancing sprays..trick my hair dresser taught me.

Silk Therappe is a good smoother.

as for hairstyles - I wear mine up in combs or with one barrette fastened on the top of my head or one comb pushed through. Looks pretty enough for work - but nice enough for evening.

I saw'll someone at my school with really cute green tights with clovers on them, a white skirt, green headband or green hairbands, and maybe a shirt that says, kiss my, I'm Irish.

My family is gonna be taking a really long trip across the country and I wanna change up my look a little bit. Right now i have Dark brown really curly hair with carmel highlights. But I straighten it a lot. And i wanna dye it either a really light brown or dark blonde. And get it relaxed and cut about shoulder lenght with dramatic side bangs. I have brown eyes. I am gonna get colored contacts. I've already picked 'em out, theyre a light sea green in the inside and on the outside like a dark forest green. And I wanna know if you think it will look cute and also...If I get my hair relaxed, will it ever go back to normal? And how straight will it be?

it will probably be wavy, alot easier to straighten, and you could curl it easily, so you would have the best of both worlds!

Ive never had my hair relaxed, but if u wana change it up, Id go for the dark blonde! But make it a dark strawberry. That would be cute. Especially with sea green eyes. But just use a straightener until u get it relaxed. Even if it doesnt turn out the way u want it while its relaxed, you can always still straighten it.

I mean 2 ponytails by the sides at the back. Normally, little girls like to tie their hair with 2 ponytails. It looks cute on them. What do you think of working adults? People in office environments are so stuffy and rigid. You can't be playful with your actions, and you can't really be fun with your clothes. So very subtle things, like the dual ponies, can really tell a lot about who you are.

I have to wear a uniform at work, and I wear my hair REALLY messy, so people know I'm a fun person. I'd die if I was as stuffy as my coworkers and boss.

Double braids are where it's at for skiers. Double unbraided pony tails are unusual in the workplace, but can be used just to be silly or fun. I would expect an artistic or off-the-wall personality to wear them; it's retro.

Childish hairdo especially for a professional, but it also depends on what her profession is. Might be ok for a beautician or physical therapist but not for a CEO or corporate manager or business executive. Ponytails don`t go well with tailored suits and briefcases.

If you're going after guys, keep your hair a little longer. They almost universally think long hair is sexier. Personally, I have mine nice and manageable, just a few inches below my shoulder with lots of layers and no color.

Divide your hair in two like you would for low pigtails and twist the hair one direction and coil the twist the other direction. Repeat the other direction on the other side. Tuck the ends in and apply the scrunchies to hold them in place.
