How do I put this in my HAIR?

I'm looking for cute, sophisticated stuff to put in my hair. My style is preppy, indie, and slightly emo.

I like this thing but I'm not sure how to wear it. Can anyone explain?

Most are just headbands which you can wear with your hair pulled back into a pony or with your hair down...

The other things are scarves, you just tie them under your hair in the back.

As for headbands:

Some people start at their forehead and pull all their hair back with them. I have side bangs so I just put it on from ontop my head and let my hair fall on both sides.
